Bradwell Hospital has 3 wards and 73 beds.
Bennion Ward:
This Ward has 24 beds - 12 palliative care and 12 complex assessment – and provides care for mainly elderly patients with multiple medical and nursing problems. Services provided include:
- Care of PEG feeding tubes
- Digital rectal examination
Oak Ward:
This Ward has 24 beds, all for intermediate care, and provide services mainly for adult patients (mainly elderly), who have had an acute episode of illness e.g. falls, or adult patients with chronic conditions e.g. COPD.
The Ward provides support and rehabilitation for patients who have had an acute episode of illness and are now recovering, but need further nursing and therapy support to enable them to return home as independently as possible.
Sycamore Ward:
This Ward has 25 beds - 24 for rehabilitation and assessment and 1 supportive therapies bed i.e. blood transfusions, venesection – and provides services for adult patients requiring intermediate care including:
- Rehabilitation
- Holistic Quality Care
- Palliative Care
- Nutrition
- Oral care
- Wound care
- Stroke care
- Diabetes care
- Discharge planning
