School age Immunisation Team

The School age Immunisation Team are the primary provider within the local area of immunisations for predominantly primary school children. Their clinical work is supported by lessons which they deliver into classrooms to promote the importance of immunisations. 

Split into North and South divisions, the teams work collaboratively on a number of projects to support best practice and an evidence base to be the best provider of school age immunisations. Each year, they cover approximately 550 schools in 11 weeks to deliver the flu vaccine. 

Currently, the team provides; HPV, DTP and MenACWY.

Referral Criteria

Children are automatically offered vaccinations within the relevant school year. If a child has missed a routine vaccination then a referral can be accepted via email/telephone call to the office. Referrals are accepted from parents, carers, teaching staff, GPs, other healthcare professionals and social workers.
