Awarded to an individual or team, staff member or volunteer who has successfully adopted or adapted ideas that may have been used elsewhere or implemented new innovations to improve the quality of services provided.  Quality improvement is at the heart of what they do and they are always learning, sharing and seeking to enhance the services they deliver.   

What we’re looking for:

  • Evidence of new innovations or ideas implemented and/or existing ideas adopted or adapted from elsewhere
  • How they demonstrate that quality improvement is at the heart of what they do
  • Evidence of learning, sharing and seeking to enhance services

Delivering a Good Experience

Awarded to an individual or team, staff member or volunteer who demonstrates excellent service user and patient engagement by including them in shaping the services they receive.  Their contribution ensures that services meet the needs of the user and that we are able to offer the best experience we can provide. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Evidence of excellent service user/patient engagement
  • How they include service user/patient in shaping services
  • Evidence of changes or improvements to services as a result of their work
  • Positive outcomes for service user/patient as a result of their work

Promoting Independence

Awarded to an individual or team, staff member or volunteer who puts promoting the independence of service users and patients at the heart of everything they do.  They make an outstanding contribution by focusing on supporting service users and patients to maintain or regain independence. 

What we’re looking for:

  • How they promote independence through their work
  • Successful outcomes for service user/patient i.e. maintain or regain independence

We focus on People

Apprentice/Student of the Year

Awarded to an individual who has gone beyond expectations in developing their skills and talents as an apprentice or student.  Their outstanding commitment, enthusiasm and determination to personal development and progression through their learning has resulted in a considerable contribution within the department in which they work. 

What we’re looking for

  • How they have gone beyond expectations in developing their skills and talents
  • Examples of their commitment, enthusiasm and determination to succeed
  • How their learning has resulted in a considerable contribution to their dept.
  • High level of attendance at place of study and work

Behaviour to Inspire

Awarded to an individual, staff member or volunteer who is enthusiastic, committed and engaging.  Their behaviour demonstrates that they continually “live the values” and achieve positive outcomes.  They epitomise dedication and drive and may have overcome personal and professional challenges.   

What we’re looking for

  • How they demonstrate their enthusiasm, commitment and engage with others.
  • Examples of how they “live the values”
  • Examples of positive outcomes achieved
  • Challenges they have faced and how they overcame them

Leading with Compassion*

Awarded to an individual who, through their leadership, builds positive feelings, creates hope and empowerment, nurtures peaceful working environments and calm mind-sets.  They inspire and motivate by encouraging individuals and teams to reach their full potential and deliver excellent services. 

What we’re looking for

  • How they demonstrate compassion through their leadership resulting in a positive and empowering working environment
  • Examples of how they have inspired and motivated individuals and teams
  • Evidence of positive and consistent impact on service delivery

* This award is linked to the regional “Leading with Compassion” recognition scheme, where anyone can be nominated for an act of compassion. However, this category is specifically seeking nominations for leaders in the organisation who have consistently demonstrated compassionate leadership. 

We take Responsibility

Delivering Savings

Awarded to an individual or team, staff member or volunteer who has, by making changes or introducing new ideas, delivered tangible savings; helping the Trust towards meeting its Cost Improvement Programme target. The savings realised could be big or small, Trust wide, local or service specific.  

What we’re looking for

  • Idea/suggestion has resulted in cost savings for the Trust
  • Evidence of commitment to see the changes/new ideas through to implementation.
  • Winners must not to be selected on the highest amount of cost saving only

Breaking the Boundaries

Awarded to an individual or team who have demonstrated outstanding partnership working and sharing resources with other sectors.  They have developed high quality, effective relationships by working across boundaries and engaging with colleagues in a wide range of external stakeholder organisations.

What we’re looking for

  • Evidence of partnership working and sharing resources
  • Examples of high quality, effective relationships and outcomes achieved
  • The range and scope of partners and stakeholders engaged with

Commitment to Delivery

Awarded to individual or team, staff member or volunteer who demonstrates a consistent commitment to delivery and responsibility.  They ensure they deliver on their promises and never give up.  Their tenacity and persistence stands them apart from others and they simply ‘get the job done’.   

What we’re looking for

  • Evidence of a consistent commitment to delivery and responsibility and the result of that approach
  • Example(s) of tenacity and persistence – getting the job done
